About consumer units
Out with the old fuse box
The consumer unit (often called the fuse board or fuse box) is where your home's circuits are protected. Older boards may have rewireable fuses or no RCD protection.
A replacement starts with a look at your existing board and wiring, so the quote reflects your property. The old unit is then removed and a modern consumer unit with RCBO protection is fitted.
Once fitted, the connected circuits are tested and you receive the relevant certificate. If testing finds problems with existing wiring, we explain them and quote any extra work before carrying it out.
